Shop notes

The hose tip is about 32 mm and the port socket about 152 mm, a gap of 120 mm, so the port socket simply swallows the hose tip with no contact. A 6 in to 1-1/4 in step reducer is needed, and even reduced the airflow is mismatched between the Cyclone collector 6 in inlet and the 1-1/4 in shop-vac hose.

Wrapping tape to close a 120 mm gap never seals cleanly and chokes the airflow further. Step the sizes properly, or pair each end with a fitting closer to its own size.
