Measured across the joint between the DeWalt DWS779 / DWS780 miter saw port and the Makita 28 mm anti-static hose, the port (41 mm) is 13 mm larger than the hose (28 mm), so it will not seat. A 1-5/8 in to 28 mm step reducer closes that 13 mm step so the two hold together instead of leaking at the gap.
