How to join a Kreg 720 Pro pocket-hole jig port to a 2-1/2 in Ridgid / Craftsman locking hose, and what stops it leaking dust.

Not compatible

Not compatible without stepping down. A 2-1/2 in Ridgid / Craftsman locking hose is far larger than the Kreg 720 Pro pocket-hole jig port, so it needs a takes a 27 mm hose tip to 2-1/2 in step reducer.

Shop notes

The port socket is about 27 mm and the hose tip about 57 mm, a gap of 30 mm, so the hose tip simply swallows the port socket with no contact. A takes a 27 mm hose tip to 2-1/2 in step reducer is needed, and even reduced the airflow is mismatched between the Kreg 720 Pro pocket-hole jig port and the 2-1/2 in Ridgid / Craftsman locking hose.

Wrapping tape to close a 30 mm gap never seals cleanly and chokes the airflow further. Step the sizes properly, or pair each end with a fitting closer to its own size.
