Connect a RIDGID R4512 table saw port to a Festool D50 antistatic hose
How to join a RIDGID R4512 table saw port to a Festool D50 antistatic hose, and what stops it leaking dust.
Not a direct fit. Joining the RIDGID R4512 table saw port to a Festool D50 antistatic hose needs a 2-1/2 in to 50 mm step reducer.
Rings drawn to scale from the measured diameters in the table below.
The two ends
| End A | RIDGID R4512 table saw port (2-1/2 in OD, 64 mm OD) |

| End B | Festool D50 antistatic hose (1-15/16 in ID) |
| Fit type | male port into hose cuff |
| Reducer needed | 2-1/2 in to 50 mm step reducer |
Shop notes
Measured across the joint between the RIDGID R4512 table saw port and the Festool D50 antistatic hose, the port (64 mm) is 14 mm larger than the hose (50 mm), so it will not seat. A 2-1/2 in to 50 mm step reducer closes that 14 mm step so the two hold together instead of leaking at the gap.
A 14 mm mismatch feels close enough to force, and it will hold for a minute before it works loose under airflow. Fit the step ring rather than trusting friction on a gap this size.
