Measured across the joint between the RIDGID R4331 planer port and the 1-7/8 in shop-vac hose, the port (64 mm) is 16 mm larger than the hose (48 mm), so it will not seat. A 2-1/2 in to 1-7/8 in step reducer closes that 16 mm step so the two hold together instead of leaking at the gap.
